We spent 5 days in Berlin, Germany’s capital city, and the best way to describe this city would be “Europe’s New York!” I surprised myself with how much I fell in love with this city, and I honestly can’t wait to visit again. This city was crammed with history, culture and art, and oozes with acceptance and open-mindedness which leaves you feeling very positive within your life.
We visited the ‘must sees’ such as Berlin Wall, Brandenburg Gate and The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. We visited a couple of hard-hitting museums about The World Wars, and also about Germany’s Cold War, which I was so unaware and uneducated about. One thing I must mention is that Germany’s museums are very well thought out. The information is presented in a way which makes you want to read on. I recommend visiting the Jewish Museum and Topography of Terror.
Another huge aspect to Berlin is its food. If you are a foodie lover, like Miz and I, you will definitely enjoy this place. As it’s such a diverse city, you can eat a different kind of cuisine for every meal. As usual, we tried all what Germany had to offer too with their national foods and snacks. If you have a sweet tooth, or need a quick curry-wurst to go, you must visit Alexanderplatz…that place was heaven for us!
