Who Am I?
My name is Rhiannah Horne, an avid traveller who has a passion to explore the world and to learn new cultures. My main goal in life is to be the best version of myself, and I believe that travelling is one way of achieving that.
I have travelled from a young age with my family, but started exploring the world independently at 17 years old. My first trip was to Miami to stay with a friend, the following year I managed to visit 4 different countries while juggling college and work, so it’s safe to say that I was hooked!
I am now 21 years old and live on the borders of Scotland and England. I study BA (Hons) Musical Theatre, and I enjoy many hobbies including fitness, music and well-being. I created this blog to inspire others to adventure, and make them realise that there is no excuse not to travel!
Why Do You Blog Your Travels?
I launched this travel blog initially as a diary – a way to document my travels for my own personal use. As time went on with friends and family enjoying looking at my site, I decided that maybe I should start producing recommendations and travel tips to benefit others reading from around the world.
My blog is definitely still quite basic in relation to all these fancy web designs you see nowadays, but I like it. I am still learning to use WordPress, and I am very proud with my progress so far. I hope you keep interest in my blog, as I have many rough drafts and ideas on articles from my travels I’d love to share with you!
How Do You Afford To Travel?
As I said earlier, I am currently studying Musical Theatre at university. The difference is that I still live at home with my parents, so I do not need to spend as much money on rent, food or transport, so I am pretty lucky this way. I also have a steady part-time job in retail where I work at the weekend and throughout the school holidays to pick up some extra pennies. But the main reason is…..
That’s the main thing people who don’t understand how others can afford to go on multiple holidays know about. You must prioritize how you spend your money. I go on nights out and I have lots of fun, but I rarely drink. Partly because of health risks, but more importantly, that £30 of drink you spent could buy me a plane ticket to Venice. That £10 you spent on pizza or the taxi could get me a train ticket from Copenhagen to Berlin. I just prioritize!
My Bucket List
I feel like you can get to know a lot about someone by hearing whats on their bucket list. As I use my blog as a diary, it’s also nice for me to glance at these every so often and motivate me to complete them in my short life.
