My Travel Plans for 2018

* Disclaimer, none of these pictures are mine*

As it is now a week into 2018, I have had enough time to think about my new & updated goals and adventures for this following year, so I decided to them share with you. I have split my travel plans up into ‘Booked Already’, ‘Fingers-Crossed’ & ‘Maybe…’

Booked Already:

Sri Lanka

18d5t405h8551-1600x1063Sri Lanka has always been on my bucket list and this year I can cross it off! I am meeting up with my friend there and we will be doing a little tour of the island in Easter. We plan to travel to Colombo, Sigiriya, Kandy, Ella and Galle. It will be my first adventure of 2018, so I am super excited to visit!

Singapore

singapore-gardens-by-the-bay-supertree-cloud-forest-5.jpgI didn’t plan to visit Singapore, but when I found out that my return flight from Sri Lanka would be cheaper to go via this ‘micro nation’, I thought why not? I will have 2 days here in April, so I will explore as much as I can. This will be the second time travelling solo, but first in Asia. I’ve already booked my capsule hotel and counting down the days!

Austria

austriaIn June I will be flying into Vienna, Austria’s capital city. I will be going with my dad, as last year we thoroughly enjoyed visiting Italy together, so when the flights were cheap, we decided to book another little holiday. We are planning to visit Salzburg & Hallstatt too as they look so beautiful, and I want to see the set location of The Sound of Music!

Slovakia

bratisalvaAfter Vienna, we will take a short ride down the Danube River to stay in the neighbouring country of Slovakia. We don’t know too much about this country, so it will be enjoyable to learn about its culture when we visit Bratislava…we will definitely visit a few museums!

Hungary

budapestThe last country on my father and I’s mini European tour is Hungary. We will be staying in Budapest for the final leg of our holiday and I cannot wait! I have seen so many people talk about how great Budapest is so I can’t wait to explore it myself.

Spain

47262519park-guell-barcelona-spain.jpgI have been to Spain many times when I was younger on family holidays, but I’ve never been to Barcelona. It looks so pretty and quirky in pictures, but I know that seeing it in flesh will be even better! I can’t wait to visit in May time with my friend from uni, it will be nice to have a girly holiday.

Fingers-Crossed:

United Arab Emirates

dubaisI have been to Dubai many times because of layovers on flights, including a 20 hour stopover. Within those 20 hours, Miz and I took an abra ride between the souks, viewed the unmistakable Burj Al Arab, went up the Burj Khalifa and ate at the Atlantis, The Palm for dinner. This time I will hopefully revisit all these sights properly and also have a long trip out to Abu Dhabi!

Oman

OMAN_MuscatIf plans do all go through with Dubai, we could take a quick trip over to Oman to the capital city of Muscat. As his sister will be working through the week, we could go for the weekend, and I’m sure we will not want to leave!

Maybe…

Belgium

belgium.jpgMy mum really wants to visit Belgium again, but this time to visit the flower carpet in Brussels. She has many friends over there too so hopefully I can join her and have a mini tour around Brussels, Antwerp and Brugge!

My 21st…?

yay21.jpgThis year I will turn 21 in August, and I will definitely make it a memorable birthday. Hopefully I will be abroad some where on a beach…or on a city break…or on a cruise…who knows? I’ll keep you updated nearer the time!
